THANK YOU FOR ANOTHER GREAT EVENT!
As always, It both my privilege and my sincere pleasure to show my support of our Military men and women by hosting the 14th Annual Dan McCarthy Charity Golf Outing benefiting the “Tee It Up for the Troops,” Organization.
My early set up crew got there at 5:30, not before the Allegan Fire and Rescue though. Flag was forty feet up hanging in the spotlight, as it was still dark when I arrived. They had brought three vehicles all flashing their lights. Quite a site. We had set up many banners and signs on Friday. Shorthanded two of my Business agents from Millwrights Local #1102 came out to use their tools for a day. The extra twenty flag set up crew from Pipefitters Local 357 came out after work to layout and put all the pole holders in the ground. Same two fellas for last 5 years. Weather was calling for rain, but we know it (almost) never rains on Tee It Up for the Troops Day. 58* when I got there and topped out at 80*, partial sun and light breeze. Perfect for golf. Crew set up tables outside, full of our “wearers” to peddle, and auction items to show, and registration table...AND the donated Sweetwater’s doughnuts and Biggby Coffee, both have fueled us up every year since we started. By 6:15 we were signing up players. No flyover this year as after I move the date off Father’s Day to save a few bucks, the date I used was Huge Oshkosh, WI Air Show. All my pilot resources were out of town.
The flag Ceremony, Honor guard and National Anthem sang by our newest volunteer 14-year-old Arianna Anderson was amazing. She is the granddaughter of a close friend from the trades for 40 years, and she called me to ask if she could sing the Anthem. Boy did she kill it. We got a prayer from my minister friend Kim Qualls, hey cannot hurt the score right, and hit the shotgun at 8am. Something about THIS outing. Nothing but smiles, laughter, and comradery. Veterans, Wounded Heroes, and players all having a blast. Several family teams I saw this year, very cool.
No pics this year as my photographer double booked. He was missed, same as Piper Don.
Lots of happy folks having fun supporting Veteran’s.
Thanks to all our sponsors, players, volunteers, vendors, and corporate donations, and most of all our Veterans, we were able to Net $16,015.00 for this year’s 2025 event. Bringing to date total of $168,000.00.
Warm regards until we meet again,
Dan McCarthy

Event Partners
These corporations have been partnering with the Dan McCarthy Annual Charity Golf Outing for many years. Without their support of our military men and women I could not have this fundraiser for the “Tee It Up for the Troops” organization. Year after year, I ask, and they come through. God bless you all.
